Tip: use the FSRS algorithm. We recommend enabling FSRS in Anki (Tools > Preferences > Review > FSRS). It spaces reviews more optimally than the default SM-2 scheduler, reducing unnecessary reviews while maintaining retention. Time estimates in this planner are based on FSRS-style usage.

About estimated specialty weights
The Est. weight column is derived from the proportion of conditions each specialty contributes to the GMC MLA Content Map, not from officially published AKT question distribution percentages. The GMC does not publish exact per-specialty breakdowns for the AKT. These weights are a reasonable proxy for exam emphasis, but the actual distribution in your sitting may differ. Use them to guide prioritisation, not as a precise prediction.
About daily time estimates
New cards (~1 min each). Anki's default learning steps show each new card 2-3 times within the session before it enters the review queue. Combined with medical content complexity, community-reported times range 45-90 sec per new card; 1 min is a mid-range estimate.

Reviews (~10 sec each). Based on Bjornstad (2020), a 10-year personal Anki dataset. Median was 7 seconds per review; 5-10 seconds is typical. Source: controlaltbackspace.org/learn-amount

Review load over time. The planner estimates today's reviews at 1.8x new cards (typical for the first month). Growth follows a logarithmic curve (steep initially, then flattening), modelled from Issa Rice (2023) simulation data. For a finite revision deck, the load stabilises once you stop adding new cards and may decline as intervals lengthen past your exam date. The "at completion" figures in your plan are calculated from this model. These estimates assume FSRS is enabled in Anki: FSRS spaces reviews more efficiently than SM-2, so your actual counts may be slightly lower.
